Sri Asih is an upcoming Indonesian superhero film written and directed by Upi Avianto. It is an adaptation of Indonesian classic comic book series Sri Asih by R. A. Kosasih. Pevita Pearce stars in the titular role. The second film in the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe following Gundala (2019), it was originally scheduled for a 2020 release but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Avianto co-wrote the screenplay with Gundala<nowiki/>'s writer-director Joko Anwar who also serves as executive producer. Cast * Pevita Pearce as Nani Wijaya/Sri Asih, a superhero who is the reincarnation of Dewi Sri. In the comic book series, Sri Asih is a martial arts expert with superhuman strength and ability to fly, Sri Asih inherits Triwikarma from Vishnu, which allows her to multiply and enlarge her body. However, it has since been delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic with production eventually starting in November instead. Joko Anwar joined the project as co-writer with Avianto in addition to his role as the executive producer of the Volume 1 films in the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe. Casting In September 2020, Anwar confirmed that a Citra Award-winning actor will play the role of Sri Asih's villain in the film, although the name has still not been announced. Release Sri Asih was expected to get a 2021 release date.
