Dan Glaser

Dan Glaser (born January 25, 1989) is an American film director, screenwriter, film producer, editor and author.
Glaser's feature debut, Pinching Penny, was shot in August 2009. The low-budget, 50,000 production, starring Steven Molony, was picked up by Viva Pictures and given a domestic multi-platform release on October 11, 2011, with an international release to follow in mid-2012. Molony won an Indie Award for Best Leading Actor in a Feature Film from the 2011 Indie Fest for his performance in the film. He is one of the co-founders of Unmarked Van Films, an independent production company which he founded with Pinching Penny stars Steven Molony and Timothy J. Meyer. He is also the owner of the production company Clever Lever Pictures. The trio is currently developing a feature film project, slated to shoot in August 2014.
Career
Early work
Glaser's debut feature, Pinching Penny, was shot in August 2009, in his hometown of Fargo, North Dakota. The film was shot on a shoestring budget of only $4,000, which Glaser funded by enrolling in a two-month-long medical study. Further funding was obtained during post, to secure music licensing, the MPAA rating and to mix the sound professionally in Los Angeles; a large portion was raised through the online crowdfunding website Kickstarter.
Future projects
Glaser will produce and direct an upcoming feature film by Unmarked Van Films, called Oxenfree, written by Pinching Penny star Timothy J. Meyer. The project is currently considering casting, and has a projected August 2014 start date. Molony is confirmed in a lead role. Glaser and Meyer also currently have a number of films in various stages of development, including the crime thriller Safety and the horror thriller Stall. In 2012, Glaser co-founded Unmarked Van Films with Timothy J. Meyer and Steven Molony, the trio have since produced a number of short films, most notably "Something Swimming Beneath Me," through the production company, during the span between features. Glaser has also recently partnered with producer/actor Brandon Heitkamp to produce the short film Blood this March, starring Steven Molony and Kelli Breslin. Glaser and Heitkamp are also in development on a feature-length western called Little Clay Men, which will star Heitkamp in a leading role. As with Glaser's previous film work, Molony will co-star. He is also in production of his next feature with Molony and Meyer, a drama entitled Oxenfree. Pre-Production of Oxenfree began on the 2nd of August 2014 with Principal Photography to start in mid-September. In November 2014 Glaser announced via his Facebook page that the final cut of Oxenfree was in progress and that the film was scheduled for release in 2015.
Other Ventures
Glaser got his start as an actor, but decided to switch to writing and directing after making his first short film. He is also a musician and singer which can be seen in a short film. In 2013, Glaser announced via his Facebook and Twitter pages that he writing a novel entitled A Fistful Of Nothing, which is a detective story, he is self-publishing and releasing sometime in March 2014.
