Sreeram Chaulia

Sreeram Chaulia (born November 18, 1978) is an Indian analyst of international affairs for Hong Kong-based Asia Times Online and New Delhi-based Financial Express. He is the author of over 270 articles and book reviews in multiple scholarly journals, daily newspapers and magazines around the world, covering topics like diplomacy, national security, war and peace, political economy, human rights, terrorism, literature and arts. He is also Contributing Editor of the book, The Most Influential People of the Last 100 Years (Murray Books, Adelaide, 2005/2008).
Education
Chaulia has two undergraduate degrees in History from St.Stephen's College, Delhi(1995-'98) and University College, Oxford (1998-2000). He took two masters degrees in International Relations from the London School of Economics (2000-'01) and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse (2001-'03). A recipient of prestigious academic awards, he holds a PhD from the Maxwell School (2005-'09) on international humanitarian organizations in war zones.
Activism
Chaulia has worked for international humanitarian and peace organizations in the USA (International Rescue Committee), Switzerland (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), Sri Lanka (Nonviolent Peaceforce) and the Philippines (Nonviolent Peaceforce).
He is known to be an advocate for the rights of Kashmiri Hindus, who are victims of ethnic cleansing by Islamic extremists. He has also defended Tibetan and Burmese movements for freedom.

Between October 2003 and February 2005, Chaulia published with a pseudonym- 'Chanakya Sen'.
