Spylacopa

Spylacopa is a music project spearheaded by guitar player, John LaMacchia. Mostly known for his writing and performing in Brooklyn's Hardcore/Jazz/Metal fusion band, Candiria. LaMacchia formed Spylacopa and began writing music under that moniker in 2001, after 9/11, the event that inspired the name of the project, Spylacopa which is a variation of the word Apocalypse in reverse. Some years later after a brief departure from Candiria, LaMacchia had a brief conversation about the project with The Dillinger Escape Plan singer, Greg Puciato that led to him coming into the fold. Shortly after Jeff Caxide of Isis signed up to do some writing and contributing as well. Lastly Julie Christmas of Made Out OF Babies and Battle Of Mice agreed to contribute her vocals to a few songs as well. Some years later the project finally had enough material to begin recording and in 2008 Spylacopa released its Debut EP on LaMacchia's own, Rising Pulse Records receiving praise and critical acclaim from press.
Spylacopa is now in the process of finishing up a full length record slated for a March 2015 release.
