Spider man reboot

The Spider Man film reboot is an upcoming American superhero film based on the fictional Marvel Comics character Spider Man. It is due for release on July 3, 2012 in 3-D. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider Man. According to Sony, the story arc will follow Peter Parker(Andrew Garfield) in his early years as he develops his powers and struggles with his emotions.
After the cancellation of Spider Man 4, Sony decided to reboot the franchise. Despite criticism of Sony's decision to reboot the franchises story arc, the Spider Man film reboot currently remains a highly anticipated film. Marc Webb will be directing a script written by James Vanderbilt. Screenwriter Alvin Sargent has been signed on to re-write the script. Filming is expected to begin on December 6, 2010.
Plot
According to Sony, the storyline will focus on the origins of Peter Parker/Spider Man(Andrew Garfield) as he grows use to his newly acquired powers while dealing with social and emotional issues. According to director Marc Webb, the movie will feature a more realistic storyline than the previous trilogy. There has been speculation as to whether the movie will be set in a high school setting or college setting but that still remains unconfirmed. A script by James Vanderbilt has been written and so far it has received great reviews. It has been confirmed that Gwen Stacy will appear in the film as the love interest of Peter Parker. She will be played by actress Emma Stone. On October 11, 2010, actor Rhys Ifans was confirmed to have been signed on to play the villain in the film but Sony declined to release the name of that villian. Two days later it was confirmed that Rhys Ifans will be playing the villain Dr. Curt Conners/The Lizard in the film.

• Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider Man: A smart and bright student who is socially an outcast. When he is bitten by a radioactive spider his life would be changed, forever. Following the death of his Uncle, Peter decides to use his newly
aquired powers for good and becomes the masked vigilante known as Spider Man.
• Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy: The love interest of Peter Parker and daughter of Police Captain George Stacy.
• Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Conners/The Lizard: The main antagonist of the film and enemy of Spider Man. Conners is a scientist who decides to test a lizard serum on himself in an attempt to try and regrow back his disfigured arm. When the experiment goes horribly wrong,Conners is transformed into a raging reptilian monster who begins to terrify the people of New York City.

Pre-Production
After the cancellation of Spider Man 4 came the announcement from Sony that they were looking to reboot the Spider Man movie franchise with a new cast and director. On July 1, 2010, it was announced by Sony that the role of Peter Parker/Spider Man had been given to actor Andrew Garfield. According to Sony, director Marc Webb will direct the new film and writer James Vanderbilt has written a script, which is being re-written by writer Alvin Sargent. Filming is expected to begin on December 6, 2010.
