Spencer West

Spencer West is a legless activist who although amputated from the pelvis down had climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2012 to raise $500,000 for drought relief and clean water projects in Kenya.
Taking on the Mountain
Born in Rock Springs, Wyoming, U.S., had his legs amputated at the knee at the age of two, and at the age of five had his legs amputated below the pelvis due to the genetic disorder sacral agenesis. Spencer graduated from Westminster College with a degree in Communications.
A public speaker with Free the Children Spencer had trained for a year beforehand and had two friends with him to support his endeavour. It took him seven days to complete the task.He has also authored his story "Standing Tall, My Journey".
