South Edmonton Business Association

The South Edmonton Business Association (SEBA) is a group of businesses assimilated for the purpose of providing a united voice for the interests of south Edmonton. Previously known as the South Edmonton Businessman's Association, SEBA dates back to 1912. When the City of Strathcona and the City of Edmonton amalgamated it provided an opportunity for the business community south of the river to form an association to deal with business interests, challenges and concerns in this area. SEBA has evolved in recent years to have a more defined focus on networking within the business community.
The South Edmonton Business Association is not a Business Revitalization Zone and does not receive any funding from the City of Edmonton. The sources of revenue come primarily through the sale of memberships and association-led intiatives such as golf tournaments, social mixers and monthly meetings.
Initiatives
The South Edmonton Business Association lobbied City Hall in the early 00's to change the name of Calgary Trail. Unfortunately City Council denied the change.
