Sourendra Kumar Das

Sourendra Kumar Das () is a socialite, fashion editor who writes in English and an activist who fights for attaining equal rights of the LGBTI community. He has been writing on gender, sexuality, fashion, lifestyle and various diverse topics since 2004. He is an ex-journalist with The Times of India, The Asian Age and The Telegraph, and a contributing editor for Pink Pages and promoted by Manvendra Singh Gohil.
He is the winner of many International and National awards from Rotary International for his works.
Early life
Sourendra Kumar Das was born in Kolkata in a Bengali family. His father was a well-known doctor, Dr. Chandra Kumar Das. His mother works in Indian Railways and was a well-known former teacher in Ramkrishna Mission, Basabi Das. His sister is a teacher in Kendriya Vidyalaya in West Bengal, Chandrava Das. Sourendra lives in Mumbai while his partner, Rajarshi Paul Choudhury lives in Rickmansworth in London, United Kingdom. His former girlfriend is Madhu Vanti Pathak, a coveted percussionist and fashion consultant based in Paris. The author write poetry at his leisure and many of his notable works are published in various LGBTI magazines and journals worldwide.
Career
As a journalist, Das began his career at The Telegraph whose parent body is the Ananda Bazar Patrika.
Das's reporting for The Asian Age and regular contributions to The New York Times brought him into prominence in 2009. He also writes articles on alternate sexuality in Pink Pages.
Presently he is a Fashion Editor with FashionFad.In, international fashion portal. His latest assignment was Dubai Fashion Week. He also has his own International Fashion Portal that covers International Fashion Weeks.
Criticism
His writings related to alternate sexuality can be seen as a challenge to patriarchy both contemporary as well as modern. He has come in for criticism for some of his over-sensationalistic articles on gender and sexuality.
