SonicScoop is a New York-based media company, serving as an online journalism resource about the New York City-area music industry.
SonicScoop is focused on coverage of the New York City music and sound production industry. It reports on recording artists, producers, engineers, composers, sound designers, record labels, recording studios, audio post facilities, and other related business sectors.
Topics covered include music and sound production, mixing, mastering, publishing, A&R, synchronization licensing, music supervision, online sales, distribution & promotion, social networking practices, and music industry entrepreneurship.
Founded in 2009 by journalists Janice Brown and David Weiss along with composer Mark Kondracki, SonicScoop publishes articles by its founding staff members as well as articles by freelance engineers, journalists and music professionals.
Regular contributors include engineers Zach McNees , Geoff Sanoff and George Walker Petit , as well as producer, educator and journalist, Justin Colletti .
