Zach McNees

Zach McNees is an American music recording engineer, mixer, producer and musician based in New York City.
Biography
After graduating from the Massachusetts based New England Institute of Art in 2003 with a degree in audio production, McNees began his career working with top musical acts at the Hit Factory recording studios in New York as a full time assistant engineer. After the close of The Hit Factory, McNees began freelancing as an engineer and producer for various studio records. Along with studio projects, McNees began working with Disclive as chief engineer in charge of recording and mixing live concerts on the fly for sale directly after the performance. Since then, McNees has worked with numerous artists on instant delivery live recordings for Disclive, Abbey Road Live and Music Networx. Most recently McNees completed work on 40 concerts with the influential rock band Pixies in Europe, the USA, New Zealand and Australia.
McNees has also been linked with many successful and up and coming artists based in New York City including Kelley McRae, Jenna Nicholls, Zach Williams and The Gregory Brothers. EQ Magazine featured Zach McNees and The Gregory Brothers in their April 2009 issue.
As a musician, McNees has played or sang a number of projects he engineered or produced. Most recently McNees partnered with his long time friend Aaron Joseph to co-write, arrange, and produce a children's album entitled "A Band of Our Own" for children's recording artist Aaron Joseph.
McNees is also a professional Front of House live mixing engineer and an avid photographer. His photographs of the 2010 US Air Guitar championships in New York City were published online by many news outlets including ESPN and MTV Online. His photograph of the 2010 US Air Guitar champion Romeo DanceCheetah was used as the iconic shot in all major press releases for the US Air Guitar championships following the performance.
