Songfacts is a website devoted to song information, including the history and meanings of the songs, as well as their Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles Chart positions and in-depth trivia. The site is organized into a database with each song getting its own entry. Songfacts also conducts interviews with songwriters and musicians which are available in their entirety and used as content for the database. Content In addition to the database of over 19,000 songs, Songfacts features interviews with notable musicians and songwriters that focus on the specific songs and on the craft of song writing. History When the database went online in August, 1999, it was primarily used by radio professionals as a means of show prep. Message Boards were added in 2002, and they first started interviewing songwriters in 2003, when they spoke with Janis Ian. Accolades USA Weekend praised it as "a virtual Behind the Music." In the August 2004 issue of Men's Journal, Songfacts is listed as one of the 100 Best Websites For Guys. In a 2010 review in the Mumbai Mirror, Mihir Patkar wrote: "Songfacts may not have the answer to every query, but it comes darn close."
