"Something for the Streets Vol.1", released January 24, 2011, was the debut album of Mo Thugs recording artist Bino the Great. This album was an independent release on Mo Thugs South, with over 13,000 copies sold independently worldwide, over 3,000 free promo album CD's distributed, and over 200,000 confirmed promo downloads. Volume 1 debuted at #6 on the independent charts via 101/Arena Distribution, quickly climbing to #2, and in its second week after release, bumped Gucci Maine's "Straight Drop" out of the #1 spot, where it held this position as a top seller for almost 4 months. The album did well initially, although began to lose steam quickly due to the incarceration of Bino 3 months after its release.
The album, hosted by Layzie Bone himself, featured many well known features, including Paul Wall & Lil Young of the Swisha House, Layzie Bone, ESG, Snoop Dogg, Big Sloan, and even an unreleased 2pac verse, along with Mo Thugs South label mates Carlito Cafe (a.k.a. Charlie B.), and 5kullz, who was at the time signed to Maybach Music Latino. Production included works from the likes of BeatKing, Damizza, Platinum Bros., and Bino himself, along with a host of talented underground producers. As a bonus, it included remixes to Bone songs Flo Motion, See Me Shine, and Never Forget Me.
A few songs from this album received regional radio play, beginning with the Snoop Dogg assisted "Ride out", "Laid Back" ft. PKT & Paul Wall, "Too Much" ft. Carlito Cafe, "I'm On" ft. Carlito Cafe & 5kullz, and a remix of "Mind on my Doe" ft. Layzie Bone (which actually appears on the followup album "Something for the Streets Vol.2").
