Career history working with IAC's Tinder
Sometime in September or October 2012, lifelong friend and Hatch Labs employee (& eventual Tinder CEO) Sean Rad invited Justin to join Hatch Labs, the incubator for InterActiveCorp (also known as IAC) which had recently launched the Tinder app.
In 2013, due to the Tinder dating app's phenomenal success, Justin Mateen (along with Tinder CEO Sean Rad) was featured in Forbes 30 under 30 for his role as the co-founder of the Tinder app.
Sexual harassment allegations
On June 30, 2014, Justin Mateen was suspended from his executive position at IAC's Tinder because of a lawsuit which alleged his discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation against Tinder's former VP of marketing, Whitney Wolfe. The lawsuit also alleged that Justin Mateen deliberately sought to conceal Whitney Wolfe's role in the founding of the Tinder app.
