Software in retail

Software in retail includes software technologies involved in executing a retail operation from end to end. This includes software point of sale and store inventory systems which may be visible to an end customer and other not so visible software technologies such as central merchandise systems and supplier management systems.
Retail Industry
The retail industry has grown from Mom and Pop shops to large corporate chain stores. This growth has required software technologies to sustain such large operations with functionality ranging from inclusion of an item in the store's lineup to collection of statistics on the revenues from specific items and stores.
