Software Freedom Kosova

Software Freedom Kosova is a free software expo founded by James Michael DuPont with an emphasis on Free and Open Source Software in general. First time was held in 29th and 30th of August 2009 in Prishtina Republic of Kosovo and it will continue as a tradition.
The topics of the conference are free software, open source, VOIP, and Wikimedia. Speakers include representatives of Sun Microsystems, Mozilla, Pilot Systems, and Google Summer of Code, among others.
The conference is organised as an open conference.
Relevance
The SFK09 is the first international conference to be held in Kosovo to promote free software open source and open knowledge. It has gotten support from the University of Prishtina and from the government. It is a significant event for Kosovo and the region.
Also, for the preparation of the conference, a local organization for the promotion of free libre open source software has been formed, flossk.org.
