Snobette

Snobette Media is a New York-based, women-owned streetwear site and creative agency launched in 2012 by Lois Sakany and Samia Grand-Pierre. It has offices in New York employing around 30 people with an operating revenue of about $3.5 million. Snobette published SnobetteStyle an Instagram account devoted to street style and trends. Since 2014, the site launched the annual Snobette Sneaker Awards which identifies the top ten sneaker silhouettes for women as selected by a panel of prominent women in streetwear and sneakers culture including Murata of Sole Finesse, Alyssa Nevita, and Susan Boyle of Rime.
History
Sakany and Grand-Pierre met while working on Highsnobiety. The duo created a new venture called The Snobette that refocused the vision to be more about women empowerment. The relaunch included a logo redesign by Rob Cristofaro one of the founders of Alife Rivington Club. Sakany registered the trademark of Snobette in 2016.
Influence on the Music, Fashion, and Arts Industry
Snobette's team leads were interviewed in Bright Magazine to discuss the impact that bloggers have had on the fashion industry. Grand-Pierre told the magazine that major streetwear fashion industry insiders “cannot wait for a publication which has a three-month turnaround to feature your label or product.” Snobette promotes respecting streetwear's place in the fashion industry, with artists such as Princess Nokia using the blog to describe streetwear's development and use in music.
The site has also been on the forefront with how music and art has collided, particularly the site's interview with Trina Robbins discussing a Prada collaboration.
Collaborations
In April 2012, Snobette's team led the creative direction for Adidas Originals #WhiteSpace Project featuring designers Coco and Breezy and Yuna. The team's #WhiteSpace video was the most widely viewed of nine events worldwide.
In October 2013, Snobette partnered with Junk Food Art House again to assist with Kristin Cavallari and the NFL’s New York Fashion Week Collection. The bloggers were the leads on design and production.
In October 2016, Snobette was featured in Crepe City Magazine's Issue 3.
The company also worked with Reebok to launch the Snobette Sneaker.
