Slender-Man

Slender Man is a fictional creature first created in 2009 by user "Victor Surge" on the Something Awful forums, as part of a contest. The character has since been used in various projects by other Internet users.
Physical properties
The Slender Man is frequently depicted as a tall, thin entity resembling a human male clad in a typical business suit. He is sometimes shown with long, tentacle-like appendages protruding from his back. He also seems to be able to stretch his body and arms to unnatural lengths. He is also noted to lack a face, ears, or hair, having only a smooth, blank head. In the original images, he is shown in the background and appears unnoticed by those around him.
Internet popularity
The Slender Man has become an increasingly popular antagonist for alternate reality games and video series online. Among the most popular, Marble Hornets features a variant of The Slender Man, referred to as The Operator. .
Other notable series include EverymanHYBRID and TribeTwelve.
In popular culture
Endermen, from the game Minecraft, took its name from Slender Man.
In the upcoming strategy video game Xcom: Enemy Unknown, the aliens called Thin Men were inspired by the Slender Man mythos.
