Sixearch

Sixearch is a collaborative peer-to-peer application designed to help a user store, search and share his/her bookmarks.

When a user stores a bookmark in Sixearch, the application will fetch and analyze the content of the address. Then the information is stored in the built-in search engine. The user can later search for the stored bookmarks the same way he/she uses a search engine.

In addition to searching through user's own bookmarks, the peer-to-peer (P2P) feature allows the application to automatically contact other Sixearch peers for additional search results. The application does not select whom to contact randomly. It analyzes and remembers what other peers may be able to answer from their previous responses. Then it uses the information to guide its selection.

As a result, peers automatically and adaptively organize themselves into topical communities.

* Nutch is used as the built-in search engine.
