Sins Of The Loose Buttons are an alternative rock band that hails from the streets of the greatest city in the world. Sins has only been together since early 2007, but the hard rock, funk influenced New York rock band’s style has been created by the members through years of immense practice to prefect their respective instruments. Sins of The Loose Buttons consists of Eric Nizgretsky , Sam Hellerman , Zack Kantor , and Ryan Bondell . Biography Sins was started on a dream, to make it to the top of the music industry. And from the beginning, all 4 members had the will, determination, potential and overall passion for music to get them there. The band runs on the great chemistry developed by the band member’s thorough years of friendship. But the bands chemistry isn’t the only think that keeps the band alive, it is Ryan's intense drumming, Sam’s drive, Zack's insane solo’s and Eric’s energetic and raw vocal performances. Sins are just beginning to show the NYC music scene what rock is truly about. Their blending of funk, and southern rock with today’s modern alternative rock sound separates Sins Of The Loose Buttons from the typical teenage band. One thing that makes this band unique are their lyrics, they vary from life-changing experiences like getting stuck in quicksand to truthful tales of the messed up society we live in. Eric Nizgretsky explains: “When I write lyrics, I dig deep into the things that are happening or did happen to me. You know, I can write about the feelings I have for a girl and then I can talk about how screwed up society is”. Everyone can relate to the dynamic aspects of their music. They posses a very mature sound for a group of kids that were in diapers when Nirvana came out with Nevermind. The intensity they bring to the stage is not only because of their elusive take on present day alternative rock but it is also because of the electrifying stage presence each member possesses. It is pretty safe to say Sins of The Loose Buttons knows how to have a good time all the time. Musical Styles Sins Of The Loose Buttons has a unique style of playing their instruments, which separates them from most other bands. The each bring their own individual styles to the group to allow Sins to have its unique style. While listening to many of the bands songs, you can separate certain aspects of the songs that sound unique and very much one of a kind. When listening to the lyrics of almost every one of the band’s songs, you can always relate to some parts. Eric Nizgretsky sings about a broad range of subjects regarding things that go on in his life. The vocals of Sins are distinct and unique because of the great melodies against the chord progression or riffs that Kantor is playing. Nizgretsky also has an individual way of singer, which is in a way rapping and singing at the same time. Often times his vocals are compared to those of Anthony Kiedis. Nizgretsky’s way of going against the traditional style of singing and his outstanding live stage performances are part of what help to make Sins so distinct. Zack Kantor is the lead guitarist of Sins. Kantor has played guitar since he was 10 years old and he does not look like he is interested in stopping in the near future. His style of playing consists of finger picking, riffing, creating unique chord progressions that work well with Nizgretsky’s melodies, and even tapping. Many people can distinguish Kantor’s distict guitar solos in songs like “Top of the World” and “Quicksand”. He plays using different scales other than just pentatonic scales. You can hear the unique sound of the Dorian mode in the guitar solo of songs like “The Amp”. Kantor is always coming up with great riffs that blend amazingly into the other parts of the songs. Throughout songs like “Hard to Explain”, you can hear the styles of Sam Hellerman playing his bass, which is different than most other bassists. Hellerman uses different notes that many people would be circumspect to play. His style of playing many notes quickly distinguishes him from other bassists. Hellerman is a naturally talented teenager who plays both the drums and the guitar as well as the bass. He is currently playing in multiple bands with different instruments, which shows just how great he is. Hellerman taught himself the bass with true determination and he plays almost every day both with the band and by himself. To him, music is more than just a sound you hear coming out of the radio in the car, it is a way of life. Ryan Bondell (Bondi) is the drummer of Sins of the loose buttons. Not only is his drumming polished and superb, but Bondi is also part of what makes the band so fun to be around because of his diverting personality. Bondi has been playing the drums for a while now and to him, they are more than just an instrument. He practices the drums every day so that when he comes in to practice with the band, his beats are polished and perfected. When he plays he thinks only about the task at hand which is playing the correct rhythm at the correct time and because of his love for the drums and music, Bondi always rocks out behind his set drawing more and more attention to the percussion section of the band.
