Sigma Omega Epsilon Sorority
(ΣΩΕ, official name Sigma Omega Epsilon Incorporated) is a Greek-letter society, founded on October 3, 1994 at the City University of New York at the College of Staten Island. With the help of the fraternity brothers of Delta Omega Epsilon, It was joined together by Sister Jennifer Kary and Sister Maria Consentino to form a bond of friendship. Later more chapters were opened at SUNY College of Technology at Delhi (1995), St. Francis College (1996), SUNY College at Oneonta (1997), SUNY College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill (1999), SUNY College of Agriculture and Technology at Morrisville (2002)Onondaga Commuunity College (2012) and are still expanding.
Sigma Omega Epsilon was formed to advance the personal well being of the members. The sorority life provides experience in self-government and encourages its sisters to develop masteries in cooperation, leadership and relations with other individuals. Sigma Omega Epsilon is simply defined as a society of diverse females (ethnic, parents, sexualities, careers, background, etc.) who work together to better the community and are bonded by sisterhood.
Goals
The goals of Sigma Omega Epsilon are to demonstrate an awareness of ethical diversity, to perform at least two community service projects per month, to achieve academic greatness for all in the sisterhood, to encourage progression, to apply a sense of unity and sisterhood, and to become role models to the greater community.

Symbols
Symbols of the Sorority include the colors (burgundy, grey and silver), the mascot (a dove with an olive branch) and the coat of arms (a shield). The motto is "Sisters Brought Together by Love."
