On May 6, 2020, Dreasjon Reed, a 21-year-old African American man better known as Sean Reed, was killed in an alleged shootout with an unidentified African American IMPD officer in Indianapolis, Indiana, following a prolonged traffic stop on suspicion of reckless driving, which Reed recorded and streamed on Facebook Live. Around twelve shots were fired, none striking the officer. Police said a loaded handgun, fired twice and similar to one in Reed's social media, was found near his body, though the livestream does not suggest he had one. There is no bodycam video, as this department does not use bodycams.
