Jeremy Meeks(also known as "Dreamy McMug") is an African-American man that received media attention in June 2014 for a mug shot posted on the Stockton Police Department Facebook page. Police had arrested Meeks on June 18, 2014, along with three other men, as part of a series of raids in Stockton, California after a series of shootings and robberies. Meeks was arrested on five gun charges and one gang charge. Shortly afterwards Meeks was reported to have signed a modeling contract with Blaze Models, a report that Meeks's agents later denied. In July 2014 Meeks was indicted on federal charges due to a prior conviction from 2002.
