Shock FM 94.9

Shock FM, which broadcasts on 94.9 MHz FM on the Dublin band, are a small pirate station who started up on March 2007.
The station targets a slightly younger age group (12 - 19) than others on the band broadcasts Commercial Dance (also known as Eurodance) Dance Classics, and also some House music to Dublin City from 6pm to 12am on weekdays and from weekends 12pm to 6am Sunday.

Despite their previous bad reputation (such as Motion 88 and 87.6) Shock FM was going for a good year or so and was the longest running pirate station in Ireland with young owners, but it has ta be said that station manager simon (Sio Mc) ran the station 7 days a week and was partly the reason Shock FM 94.9 done so well, with Simon (Sio Mc) devoting countless hours to the station everyday.
Listeners could interact with the station in many ways, but the most popular way was to text them when they are on the air, their text-only number was 0851701376.
Shock FM's website has been partly abandoned but their Bebo account is nearly always active at http://shockfm949.bebo.com
Competitors on the band such as Galaxy FM on 91.6 and closest neighbours Dance FM on 94.6 have left Shock FM with little or no listeners at some times since their leaving long time home on 88.0 MHz FM, but got them selfs back on track. The station is now off air due to a problem out of their control. They have since came out and said they will be back and will been boosting their power and installing RDS into their system to get some more fans in their grip.
