Shobha Surendran

Sobha surendran is an Indian politician from the state of Kerala allied to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She is currently the National Co Convener
of Sadasyata Abhiyan, BJP's National Membership Drive. she is a well known leader of BJP. She was elected to the National Executive Committee of BJP. Sobha is the first woman politician from Kerala to hold a position at national level. She has acted as the state president of BJP Mahila Morcha. Her husband K. K. Surendran is a BJP leader in Kerala.
Personal life
Sobha hails from Vadakkaanchery, Thrissur district, Kerala. She is married to K. K. Surendran.
Elections
In 2004, Sobha Surendran competed unsuccessfully in the Wadakkancherry by-election. She ran without success for election Ponnani in 2006, and in a by-election in Ernakulam in 2009. She ran for Puthukkad in the 2011 Kerala state assembly elections, but lost to C. Raveendranath of the . In this election her husband, K. K. Surendran, ran for Kottakkal but lost to M. P. Abdussamad Samadani of the Indian Union Muslim League.
In 2016, Sobha Surendran ran for Palakkad while her husband, K. K. Surendran, ran for Ponnani. The couple planned to support each other in their campaigns.
She managed to put up a close contest and claimed and came second with 40,087 votes.
In 2019, Sobha contested from Attingal constituency and came third. She was defeated by Adoor Prakash of Indian National Congress.
