P.P. Suneer is an Indian politician, from Kerala, belongs to Communist Party of India (CPI). He is the Malappuram District Secretory of CPI. He is a popular communist leader of North Kerala.
Personal information
He was born in 1968 in Marancheri at Ponnani, as son of Abubecker and P.N. Ayisha. He had done his schooling in Veliyancode Higher Secondary School, Pre-Degree from St. Aloysius College, Thrissur and Degree from Sree Kerala Varma College. He completed his post graduation in political science also from Kerala Varma college. He was married to K.K. Shahina, a school teacher. They got 2 daughters and a son.
Political career
P.P. Suneer entered politics through All India Students Federation (AISF), during his school days. He became the Vice Chairman of Calicut university Union, two times, during his college days. Later he became active in All India Youth Federation (AIYF) and in CPI.
In 2004, he contested as CPI candidate for Loksabha, from Ponnani constituency. But he was defeated by Muslim League leader E. Ahmed in the election.
In 2005, he contested in the Malappuram District Panchayat election and won from Marancheri ward of Malappuram District. His performance as District Panchayat member was appreciated by Kerala Government Local Self Government Department.
He is presently the State Executive committee member and Malappuram district secretory of CPI. He is the general secretory of Kerala Pravasi Federation (Kerala Expatriates Federation) and Convener of LDF Malappuram District. He is also a member of Kerala State Housing Board management committee. In 2019, CPI put him as a candidate of Loksabha Election, from Wayanad constituency.
