Shire FAMOUS PIES is a manufacturer of pies, pasties, and sausage rolls and is based in the Warwickshire town of Leamington Spa, United Kingdom. It is a family run company that was founded in 1970. It employs 85 people at its factory. The company makes a chicken balti pie. In 2005, they were chosen by Manchester United Football Club to be their pie supplier for the next 3 seasons. Bescot Stadium, home ground of Walsall Football Club, was the first sporting venue where the chicken balti pies were sold. They are now sold at over 60 clubs including Newcastle United Football Club, Coventry City Football Club, Aston Villa Football Club and many more. Shire's Chicken Balti Pie has gained cult status amongst football fans. The range of products they manufacture also includes Pizza Pod and a cheese and onion pie, that have both been approved by the Vegetarian Society. They are the only major pie manufacturer in the United Kingdom to be EBLEX certified. All of their products are free from hydrogenated fats and MSG.
