Shayan Anique Akhtar (born February 13th, 1995) is a programmer, who develops applications and games primarily for Windows Phone and Windows 8. He claimed to be the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional Developer living in Pakistan. Media coverage and claims of fraud Akhtar claimed that he in November 2011 became a Microsoft Certified Professional Developer at the age of 16 and got 998 marks out of 1000 in the MCPD Exam. Akhtar further claimed that Microsoft CEO Bill Gates had sent him a special invitation for a one-to-one meeting, and that his name had been entered in the Guinness Book of World Records for the achievement. When Attaa checked with Microsoft for confirmation, they replied that they had no record of an invitation being issued to Akhtar. Attaa could find no record entry for Akhtar in the Guinness Book of Records, and when he challenged Akhtar on his claims of an invitation from Bill Gates, Akhtar sent what Attaa described as fabricated emails, purporting to be from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation but containing spoofed sender addresses.
