Robert Prins

Robert Prins is a Dutch hitchhiker, most famous for his 1991 entry in the Guinness Book of World Records as the hitchhiker who covered the greatest distance in 24 hours (2,318.4 km/1,440.6 mile)

The oldest of four children of Mr. and Mrs. Prins, Robert was born in Den Haag, The Netherlands on 20 March 1960. He started hitchhiking as a student, between Delft and De Bilt. His main contribution to hitchhiking is a set of programs that can be used to generate detailed statistics on all aspects of a (series of) hitchhiking trip(s). The set of his own statistics was used by Sylvain Viard in his 1999 masters thesis about hitch-hiking.
