Shaun Pearson

Shaun Pearson (born in York 28 April 1989) is a 22 year old English footballer currently playing for Grimsby Town.
History
Downham Market, Spalding and Stamford
Pearson started out at his local side Downham Market before joining Spalding United during the 2007-08 season, and won the Player of the Year Award that season. He then moved to Stamford where he won the Player of the Year Award again.
Boston United
Pearson then joined Boston United for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2009. In his first season at the Northern Premier League side he helped Boston win promotion and two other trophies. He also won 5 Player of the Year awards, including Player of the Year, and scored 9 goals.
Pearson's second season at Boston was almost as successful as the first, both at club and at an individual level. Pearson made 36 starts for the club, scoring 11 goals, and helped the Pilgrims to 3rd in the Blue Square North, losing out to Guiseley in the play-off semi final. He also picked up the Player of the Year Award for the second consecutive season, as well as Player's Player of the Year and two others.
At the end of the 2010/2011 season Pearson rejected a new contract offer to stay at Boston. On the 24th June Grimsby town released a statement on the club website declaring they had been trying to negotiate compensation with Boston United for pearson.
Grimsby Town
After two successful years on the books of Boston Pearson turned professionally by following former Boston management duo Rob Scott and Paul Hurst Blue Square Bet Premier promotion contenders Grimsby Town on a two year deal, Pearson is the mariners fifth signing of the 2011 close season.
