"Lungs" is the first single released from Alexa Borden's sophomore album The Cherry Bomb Tree. It has been described as "More mature" and "livelier" by Jethro Mah during an album review
Creation
Lungs is a hyperbole about a kiss and the regrets that have come along with it. Borden states "It's about that feeling of never being able to live down a mistake you've made, and how there's always going to be a reminder". Alexa revealed in an interview that she was creating a more mature, and dark album. "I wanted to not be so serious. It's the most wild I've ever been" The song has been acclaimed as "daring" and "hypnotizing".
