Shadow of Israphel is a series of semi-scripted videos made by the Yogscast and uploaded to YouTube. The videos are filmed in a computer game called Minecraft. The two main characters are Xephos(William T Riker) portrayed by Lewis Brindley, and Honeydew (a dwarf) by Simon Lane. Xephos and Honeydew explore a vast land called Minecraftia which is a procedurally generated representation of a world and accessed via a Minecraft Multiplayer Server. Alas, Minecraftia is threatened by an evil man by the name of Israphel. The two find out, as the series progresses, that they must save the land from complete destruction by defeating Israphel. Plot The plot of Shadow of Israphel is quite unique. The series is actually the third season of a Minecraft "Let's Play." Xephos and Honeydew are tasked with tracking down evil in the land of Minecraftia and reach the ultimate goal of defeating Israphel. During the season the duo visit locations like "BBQ Bay," "Mistral City," and even the Nether. As for the actual plot, Xephos and Honeydew return to their cave-established home, the 'Yogcave', along with their companinions Skylord_Lysander and Old_Peculier. However, plumes of smoke 'slog' the Celeano, Lysanders ship, and causes it to crash down outside the Yogcave. Awaking in the wreckage, the four attempt to enter The Nethergate, that Xephos and Honeydew had previously attempted to do. Although, their mysterious rival, Israphel, had somehow closed it from the other side. Their original mission to rescue Daisy_Duke, was once again delayed. When entering the actual Yogcave, they realise they are now standing in Yogcave Ruins, as they look around to see that the entire hill they were living inside had been hollowed about by obvious TNT use. Only a segment of the Yogcave remains, with the Yogtower precariously unstable, it is not safe for the four to remain there. Old_Peculier had previously clutched at his chest, signalling an impending heart attack. They soon realise the smoke that had crashed the Celeano, was also making Peculier's health deteriorate. With haste, they move out into the wilderness. Following a path they make it to Mistral City. Here they find out that Old_Peculier's family home has been burned and that his condition is worsening. They leave Peculier in Lysander's house to rest. Xephos, Honeydew, and Lysander then begin to search for a cure. Lysander suggests that they check to see if the wizard Fumblemore of Mistral City can help them. They begin to climb up the guard tower after getting skylord licenses need to go to the floating islands above mistral city. They make their way to fumblemore and he gives them a list of ingedents for a potion to cure Old_Peculier, It required water from the pool of life (Aka Memory), 5 dirt, Some feathers (Or arrows as honeydew gave him), and 5 sulpher (gun power) and TWO GOLDEN APPLES!. After leaving fumblemore's tower and return to ground level, HoneyDew Recomends breakfast to distract SkyLord_Lysander, they end up eatting at Granny Bacon's Greasy Spoon Tea Shop ,while Xephos goes to kill Asttey a Rehabilitated Creeper. Sadly when trying to attempt this the creeper explodes and no gun powder is recovered... Stunned at the failure Xephos repairs hastily to avoid detection, honeydew quickly created a divierion by blaming it on Fumblemore. Xephos continues to search the house and then finds 2 gunpowder outside in a trash can. After ward he continues to raid the next couple houses. During which Honeydew is Eating Granny Bacon's ,"F.I.S.H." After Having little success Xephos returns to the Cafe. Shortly after his arrival Honeydew notices that A Golden Apple is on Granny Bacon's Menu. Continuation Needed Season Three Season three is the beginning of the Shadow of Israphel series. Xephos and Honeydew explore the world of Minecraftia which is being terrorized by an evil foe named Israphel. One hundred years ago there was a summer that never ended; heat covered the lands of Minecraftia causing the wells to run dry. The people of minecraftia began to die of hunger and thirst. "The animals were dying from blistering sand." Tale of sands. Sand covered most of minecraftia. To solve the problem a legendary hero named Verigan lead the people of Minecraftia and built a wall to fight against the spreading sands. Unfortunately a terrible evil threatened the wall from destruction so Verigan and his son, Karpath, went into the desert to remove it. Verigan was killed in the final battle and Karpath made it home alive, but greatly wounded. He founded the Crimson Cross and established the Templars. Less than a month later Karpath vanished. In late Season One Xephos and Honeydew notice a strange person lurking around their home. He planted traps in the house and outside. Large precarious structures were built by him. The two men suddenly caught on and followed the man. The man, Israphel, leads them to a small village named TerrorVale. There the two meet an Inn owner named Old Peculier, a pastor name Reverend John and a blacksmith named Daisy Duke. They complete some small quests involving finding diamonds for Daisy and searching Reverend John's now-overrun home for a bible. Soon Daisy vanishes. In TerrorVale Xephos and Honeydew discover the grave site of Israphel who apparently died five years before. They soon find out that Reverend John is part of an evil cult named the Cult of Israphel. Under the grave of Israphel is a narrow tunnel that leads right to a portal to the nether made by the Xephos and Honeydew. The four - Xephos, Honeydew, Old Peculier, and Skylord Lysander - explore amazing cities in Minecraftia that are home to secret followers of the Cult of Israphel, that may even include one of their own. As events start to unfold they realize Israphel has tried to doom the world before, but was locked in the Nether by Old Peculier's father. The nether could be only accessed by portals. Eleven of them were scattered across the land, all hidden away. The Four have to close all the portals to save Minecraftia and banish Israphel once more. The first portal that is destroyed is their own and the one Israphel came through. As the series progresses they find the Templar and the large desert. To find Israphel's secret lair, they must find Karpath's four legendary maps. Once they find two of the map fragments, Karpath takes them to the future where they learn what will happen to the world if they fail in their journey. The map fragments will allow them to communicate with Verigan. Minecraftia Minecraftia is the name given to the minecraft world generated by the Yogscast in the first episode of the series. Minecraftia is the setting of the series. In Minecraftia there are several memorable places. * The Yogcave This is where the journey began. The Yogcave is a huge cave found at the base of a mountain. In the third epsode, after finding and settling in the cave, Xephos and Honeydew named it "The Yogcave". Many expansions were made to The Yogcave such as a tunnel that going through the mountain leading to the "Cave of Dread" where their portal was located as well as a mine that reached the bedrock level (the lowest possible level in a Minecraft world). Xephos planned to build a tower ("The Yogtower") out of The Yogcave several stories high, but unfortunately Israphel showed up and spoiled that plan by raining arrows on Xephos and Honeydew. The Yogcave was actually the Yogcasts' second home in Minecraftia after "Simon's Shack", a hastily built shack on the beach which had no light in it. * Terrorvale Terrorvale is a small town connected to a series of structures built by Israphel by a long road. Terrorvale, contrary to what the name suggests, is a pleasant town. It contains only five buildings: The blacksmith run by Daisy Duke, the Inn owned by Old Peculier, the Holy Church run by Reverend John (later revealed to be a cultist of Israphel), the house of an unknown psychotic man and Reverend John's house. Reverend John's zombie infested house turns out to be an evil trap set for Xephos and Honeydew by Reverend John by the orders of Israphel. Only three citizens were found in Terrorvale by Xephos and Honeydew: Old Peculier, Daisy Duke and Reverend John. * Mistral City Mistral City was (prior to it's destruction) a large thriving city. Mistral City is a magnificent Minecraft build. Mistral City is situated between BBQ Bay and Varigan's Hold. Mistral City's landmarks include Carnivale Del Bango, Ancient Ruins, a wooden fortified wall, gleaming spires and floating buildings connected by boardwalks restricted to Skylords. Old Peculier, Skylord Lysander and Old Peculier's father live in Mistral City. The Hero's meet some new people here: Granny Bacon (the owner of the Family Grill), Father Braeburne (Father of the Holy Apple, later or the Holy Record) and Skylord Jasper (a very mean skylord). Mistral City is later burned to the ground by Jock Fireblast and is now home to the tree hugging wizard Swampy Bogbeard. *Skylords Mansion The summer mansion owned by the skylords of Minecraftia. Xephos and Honeydew visits the mansion and finds out that skylord Jasper is homosexual and keeps skylord Lysander prisoner in the Fungeon. Lysander later escapes with our heroes and Jaspers butler Um-Bongo. *Sky Hold Sky Hold is a set of 5 giant castles made in the air, each made out of different materials, the only way for Xephos and Honeydew to access the Hold was by using planes. *Stoneholm Not seen in any episode yet. Spacker LeChuck talks about it several times. Presumably a dwarven city. *Icaria Sneak peeked in professor Griswald episode. Honeydew and Xephos are supposed to meet Isabel Peculier there.
