List of The Raccoons locations

The following is a list of locations of the Canadian animated television series The Raccoons.

The entire series of The Raccoons is based in the fictional Evergreen Forest which is located "slightly aways north, beyond the horizon", which is likely to be around western Canada. At the start of the series it is a location primarily inhabited by animals, living among the humans, namely Dan the Forest Ranger and his children, though by the end of the first series they were phased out and from then the series concentrated on the lives of the animals in the Evergreen Forest themselves.

The Evergreen Forest is a vast wilderness of trees, lakes and mountains.

Main locations
The Raccoondominium
A tree that has been converted into a house with doors and windows that Melissa, Ralph and Bert Raccoon live in together. In the first special, The Christmas Raccoons, the Raccoondominium was a simple tree that was sawn down by Cyril Sneer, but since then has appeared in its current form.

Sneer Mansion
A large, gothic mansion that towers over most of the forest, this place is the home of Cyril Sneer and his son Cedric, along with their staff, the pigs and bears. It has many rooms, most notably the following; Sneer's office, the bedrooms, the vaults, dining room, lounge, garage, dungeons, library and even a theatre for conferences and other events. Its gardens include a hedge maze and a fountain. Sneer's also appears to own at least two vehicles, a 1980s luxury Limo and also a classic 'Clarence Cyclone' limo.

The Evergreen Standard Office
It started life out as a hut that stored fishing supplies with a jetty adjacent to it, but fell into disrepair. The building was restored when Ralph decided to start the forest's local newspaper, 'The Evergreen Standard', and use it as their production office, complete with printing presses and a small darkroom. It has been in this guise since.

Evergreen Lake
The largest lake in the Evergreen Forest. It is often Bert and Cedric's favourite fishing spot. In the second special, The Raccoons on Ice, Cyril Sneer had planned to build a casino called the Cyril-Dome over the lake, and later Sneer's Monster Theme Park next to the lake.

The Raccoons' Fort
A small wooden fort located near the shore of one of the lakes in the Evergreen Forest. It was built by Ralph and Bert when they were children. In 'A Night To Remember' it was found dilapidated and falling apart, but was subsequently refurbised. It served as the clubhouse for their club. It is seen again frequently throughout many later episodes. Notably, the fort also overlooks the Haunted House across the lake.

Bert and Cedric's Clubhouse
In the later episodes, the writers decided to give Bert and Cedric a proper clubhouse, instead of a small fort (as above). It's unknown if Bert and Cedric decided to knock down their old fort and replace it with their clubhouse. However the clubhouse seems to be in a completely different area. The clubhouse has been used in episodes like 'Trouble Shooter', 'Spring Fever', 'The Great Escape', 'Join The Club' and others.

Lady Baden-Baden's Mansion
A similar mansion (possibly larger) to that of the Sneer's, this place is home Lady Baden-Baden, and Cyril's business rival, Mr Knox. It has a vast back garden which has been used for ceremonies.

Ranger Dan's Cabin
The home of Ranger Dan and his children Julie and Tommy, as well as their dogs Schaeffer and Broo. It is rarely seen again after the first season when the Ranger and his children were written out of the series.

The Blue Spruce Cafe
In Season 4 (in the first episode of that season 'Second Chance') Schaeffer opened up the Blue Spruce Cafe (another converted tree, though larger then the one used for the Raccoondominium) and it has been a regular hang out spot for the Raccoons since. The cafe would often be a host for a local event like live performances.

George and Nicole's House
In Season 5 (Moving In) George, Nicole, Bentley and Lisa Raccoon moved into a treehouse similar to that of the Raccoondominium, but large enough to house a whole family of four. It has the usuall living room, kitchen, bathroom, and at least 3 bedrooms. It even has a detached garage built beside the tree which doubles as a small basketball court, where Lisa practices her basketball as it has a small basket attached to the garage door.

Minor Locations
These locations of the forest have only been in one or several episodes, usually as the principal location of that particular episode, but have since not played any large roles if any at all.

Sneer's Warehouse
Seen in several episodes performing many roles for manufacturing Sneer products, the vast majority of them being unsuccessful and causing Sneer to lose money. They have to date produced a variety of products, including potato chips, elevator shoes, and merchandising among other things.

Willow's General Store
Run by Mr Willow, it serves as a local convenience store for the inhabitants of the Evergreen Forest. It made its first appearance in 'The Chips Are Down' in Season 3, where Bert becomes addicted to a shady Sneer product so he can win a contest.

Evergreen Museum
This large building hosts vast archives of information regarding the history of the Evergreen Forest. Professor Smedley Smythe runs the museum, and in 'Easy Money' has been assisted by Lisa in tidying the place up.

Evergreen Mountain
The tallest mountain in the Evergreen Forest. Bert sets out to climb the mountain alone in 'Going It Alone', but Cyril Sneer has rigged the place with booby traps in order to guard a closely kept secret hidden at the top - a statue of his uncle whose intentions Cyril considered shameful.

Outdoor Stage
A small stage which is visible from Sneer Mansion. It has several rows of benches, and was used for Ralph and Melissa's play in Rumours and again in The Sweet Smell Of Success as the venue for The Raccoons' band's performance.

The Haunted House
A large neglected and abandoned house that was the key setting of 'A Night To Remember', where Cedric was required to spend a night inside in order to join Bert and Ralph's club. Although legend has it that ghosts appear there on a full moon, the house isn't actually haunted per-se, but has likely earned the nickname due to its foreboding appearance. It is never said how the house became abandoned. Despite some obvious vandalism and minor structural damange, the house's reputation has kept it well preserved (there is still furniture and possessions inside).

The house appeared again in a flashback in 'Second Chance'. It was where a teenage Cyril and his friend Woodchuck Berry would secretly practice playing music during the night.

Racetrack
Specially constructed by Cyril Sneer for testing his Sneermobile in 'The Evergreen Grand Prix', it has large areas of spectator seating, advertising hoardings and a commentary box. Cyril had blown up and demolished parts of the forest to make way for this track.

Frehan's Peak
One of the tallest mountains and perhaps the most mentioned of the mountains in the Evergreen Forest. In 'Gold Rush', set during a thunderstorm, Bert and the Pigs (separately) attempt to harness the lightning to make gold. In 'The Headline Hunter' Bert takes his date from the bachelor auction up the mountain for a picnic where all the food is peanut butter. In 'Stealing The Show' the skateboard competition is moved from its original location to take place on this mountain, where it is revealed that a road snakes round the mountainside.

Endless Echo Caverns
A large chain of underground caves located in the middle of the forest. Cyril Sneer attampted to make a tourist attraction out of the caverns when he and The Raccoons discovered secret art work painted on the walls in 'Artful dodger'. Many secrets have been stashed here, including buried treasure and Bert has even hidded valuables in these such caverns as well. One of its most interesting features is the quartz tower, which spectacularly glows once ever ten years when the blue moon casts its light onto it.

The Evergreen Line
This railway line is one of the Evergreen Forest's links to the City. The train station is often seen in many later episodes, usually when a character is arriving or departing the forest. One of its spurs, a picturesque mountain railway, was rediscovered in 'The Evergreen Express' as the route the Evergreen 504 locomotive travelled on. It had been out of use for decades, but was recently restored as a tourist attraction.

Evergreen Elementary
The local school where Melissa, Bert, Ralph and Cedric attended as children, and even Cyril Sneer himself. The teacher who works there is Miss Primrose. In 'Making The Grade', Bentley is displeased that it does not have any computers inside it and appears outdated. It was threatended with closure by the government due to its small size, but Cyril Sneer stepped in and made a donation to expand the school and thus it was saved from closure. Miss Primrose becomes a teacher at Bentley's school in the city, City Collegit, to learn more about computers but has intentions of returning to the old Schoolhouse when the renovating is completed.

K.N.O.X. TV
This TV studio is seen in 'Moving In', when George Raccoon and the Pigs are (separately) attempting to be employed by Mr Knox should their trial runs work.

Jackpine Island
A remote island covered in trees that is in the middle of one of the larger lakes in the forest. Appears in Search And Rescue, where Bert and Cedric discover a meteorite having crashed there. During this time Bert and Cedric are marooned and have to spend the night there awaiting rescue.

The City
Although never seen, the City has been mentioned in several episodes whenever one of the characters has been offered a job there. George, Nicole, Lisa and Bentley Raccoon all used to live there before moving to the Evergreen Forest. In the episode "Making the Grade", Bently returns to the city to attend junior high.

Factory 1.9.8.4
A plant where 'Sneer Snake oil' is manufactured. It is located next to the main Railroad line.
