Sean A. Pittman

Sean Anthony Pittman (born November 11, 1968) is an African American attorney, governmental consultant and television political analyst. Pittman has often been cited as one of the most influential voices in Florida and he serves as a co-host on the television program, The Usual Suspects, which airs on CBS affiliate WCTV channel 6 and is broadcast in 38 counties across North Florida and South Georgia.
Early life and education
Pittman majored in Political Science and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1990 from Florida State University, where Pittman became a member of the Theta Eta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi. Pittman is known as a Double Nole because he also received his Juris Doctor degree in 1994 from the Florida State University College of Law, where he served as Student Body President and two-time Chairman of the Florida Student Association Board of Directors. While in his second year of law school, Pittman was appointed by Governor Lawton Chiles to the Florida Board of Regents. Florida State University honors Pittman's legacy of leadership by annually awarding a Sean A. Pittman Leadership Award and Scholarship to an outstanding student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication to the student body, university, and community with significant contributions to the welfare and support of African-American students.
Professional career
Pittman commenced his career as a Staff Attorney and Assistant to the Secretary of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, (DBPR) serving as an advocate and policy maker on behalf of the department. Attorney Pittman is a well respected and recognized legal expert in the legislative process and held a seat on the Miami Herald Legislative Ranking Committee that annually ranks Florida House and Senate members' performance. In 2005, Pittman was selected to serve as a member of the Orange Bowl Committee. Pittman currently serves as Chairman of both the Governmental Relations and Team Outings Committees within the Orange Bowl Corporate organizational structure.
In December 2006, Pittman was named to then Governor-Elect Charlie Crist’s Transition Team. On September 5, 2007, Hancock Bank announced Pittman as one of four new additions to its Florida Board of Directors.. In June 2009, Pittman was elected to serve as the 2009-2011 Chairman of the North Central Division of the Children’s Home Society.
Pittman Law Group, P.L.
In 2001, Pittman founded the Pittman Law Group, P.L., a corporate law and governmental consulting firm with offices in Tallahassee and Singer Island, Florida. Pittman serves as the firm's president. The Pittman Law Group advocates on behalf of numerous clients, including, AT&T, Broward County, the City of Miami, Miami-Dade County, the City of Port Orange, the City of Rivera Beach, the City of Tallahassee, Palm Beach County, TECO, and the Village of Royal Palm Beach. Since 2002, the Pittman Law Group has hosted the Mayor's Annual Brunch in Tallahassee, Florida. The Mayors Brunch has been attended by Governor Charlie Crist, Congressman Alan Boyd, Florida Supreme Court Justice Peggy Quince, CNN Analyst Roland Martin, numerous State Legislators and Tallahassee Mayor and President of the Florida League of Cities John R. Marks. In 2003, attorney Don West, Jr. joined the Pittman Law Group as Of Counsel, working on special projects for the firm's elite clients.
Personal life
Pittman makes his home in Tallahassee, Florida and is engaged to Dr. Audra Price, currently of Savannah Georgia where she is a Professor at the Savannah College of Art and Design and operates an art design studio.
