Scott Swanson

Scott Swanson (born 1977), is a American blogger, and employee of Glam Media, Inc., residing in San Francisco, CA. Swanson is best known for media appearances where he speaks on internet advertising, and user-generated marketing programs. Since 2002, Swanson has appeared as a speaker at conferences including AD:TECH, the Montgomery Technology Conference, OMMA: Hollywood, The Digital Media Summit, and Digital Hollywood. Swanson was on the founding team at Tribal Fusion where he managed the company's publisher network. His latest career change was referenced by the New York Times in 2006 and Silicon Valley gossip blog, Valleywag in August of 2006..

Biography
Born Richard Scott Swanson. According to his blog, Swanson grew up in Seattle, Washington and majored in Media Studies at Pomona College where he studied under Professor Brian Stonehill (1953-1997). While at Pomona, Swanson became a roommate and close friend of Chris Cain of the rock band, We Are Scientists with whom he collaborated on various student film projects including a pilot for a television program with now-famous Stomp The Yard director, Sylvain White. Following graduation in 1999, Swanson lived in Bali, Indonesia for 6 months where he formed web design firm, Indorphyn Web Productions. In November of 1999, he moved into a home in Berkeley, CA with Cain and We Are Scientists lead singer Keith Murray and began working at online advertising network, Flycast Communications which was acquired by CMGI in January of 2000 and consolidated into the Engage Media network, a competitor of DoubleClick. Following the bankruptcy of Engage at the height of the Dot-com bubble bursting, Swanson joined startup Tribal Fusion as its fifth employee in August of 2001. He served as VP of Network Development and built their publisher network into the fifth largest media property in the United States.. While at Tribal Fusion, Swanson became involved with bringing online advertising models to internet start-ups such as Friendster, Tribe.net, and the Internet Content Rating Association

Swanson currently works at Glam Media, Inc. in Brisbane, CA where he was named Vice President & General Manager of the Publisher Network in 2007.
