School of Homeopathy

The School of Homeopathy is an organization of practitioners, learners and administrators specialising in homeopathic health care and education based in the United Kingdom with students in over 60 countries. Established in 1981 by its founder and current course leader, Misha Norland, the School of Homeopathy is the longest running homeopathy school in the U.K.
“Once an understanding of what constitutes sickness and health, and how to transform one to the other, has been established, it is not what you put into the student, but the healer you draw out, that defines homeopathic education." Misha Norland
History
Conceived as a three-year practitioner course, the School of Homeopathy was established near Tiverton, Devon, in 1981, then moving to Yondercott House, Uffculme in Devon in 1984 where it remained for 25 years. In 1987, in collaboration with Stuart Gracie, the School launched its international homeopathy distance-learning programme, one of the first of its kind in the world. In 1988 it added a fourth year with an emphasis on clinically based casework. In 1990 the School partnered with the Pythagorian School in Athens, Greece. In 1994 the School gained Society of Homeopaths' course recognition, being the first course provider to do so. 1994 was also the year the New York branch of the School opened. The Japanese partner course was established in 2006 and the Chinese in 2008. In 2009, Mani Norland took over as Principal and the School of Homeopathy relocated to the Cotswolds, its current location. This is at Hawkwood College in Stroud, Gloucestershire. In 2010, six of the worlds leading homeopaths were appointed as patrons. In 2011, HRH The Prince of Wales congratulated the School on its 30-year achievement.
Faculty
A strength of the School is the size and experience of its faculty, and many of the most knowledgeable homeopaths in the United Kingdom teach at the School. Their wide-ranging skills combine to provide students with the highest standards of teaching, assessment and support. They are all active homeopaths who continue to increase their already considerable expertise through many channels of Continuing Professional Development as well as their everyday practice.
Curriculum
The School of Homeopathy teaches classical homeopathy and is one of only a few colleges that combines teachings from past and present masters in an undergraduate programme. The curriculum of the distance-learning courses is supported by over 150 videos.
