Schmoof

Schmoof were a synthpop/electropop group formed in London in 2002 by Sarah Schmoof (vocals, synthesizers) and Lloyd Schmoof (synthesizers).
Schmoof used analogue synthesizers from the '70s and '80s controlled by a 1985 Atari ST. More recently, the band has made their sound fuller using more distorted tones, blending electro with a rock sound but without being an actual rock band.
Schmoof lyrics are often tongue-in-cheek tales about "important things in life" such as boys, chocolate, pulling on tube trains, and what to do with unfaithful farmers.
Schmoof tour the UK regularly and have supported Freezepop several times. The Schmoof live show is known for its PVC, high heels, 48K ZX Spectrum projections & frantic strap-on keyboard duels.

*Schmoof opened the 2006 Infest festival. Says Sarah: "Goths like us because we wear PVC and I have black hair! Or at least we think that’s why…"
*Canadian animated teen comedy "Girlstuff/Boystuff" uses Schmoof songs in three episodes.
*Schmoof's version of Bryan Adams song "Run to You" is only available on the "Warm Electro for Cold Ears" EP. This CD of cover versions was limited to 50 copies. Profits from the EP sales went to Care International.
*Schmoof once played at a pie-eating competition in a working men’s club in Leeds.
*Leading up to the second album, the band released two sampler EPs featuring early cuts of tracks from The Glamour, as well as an electropop cover of Guns N' Roses song "".
