Sayed Masroor Ahmad (born 12 November 1983) is an Indian filmmaker. Masroor made his directorial debut with as yet unreleased Winter, with Irrfan Khan as the lead. As a filmmaker, he is known for Harudh (2011), an award-winning Hindi film about Kashmir Conflict. He is also the guest editor on bollywood at Cable News Network-Indian Broadcasting Network (CNN-IBN) website. Early life Sayed Masroor was born in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. He is an alumnus of D.B.N Vidya Mandir School, Jammu and completed his graduation (Bachlor of Arts) from CSJM University, Kanpur. His father is Member of Legislative Assembly and Ex-Minister in J&K Government. Career Before entering the film industry he worked as a 3D Animator at Prana Studios in Mumbai. He specialized in 3D Animation and Visual Effects from Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics. He was fascinated with films right from childhood. In 2008 he was involved in writing the script of the short-film Gubaare. He worked as an assistant to film maker Anurag Kashyap for the film Dev D (2009). In 2011, he co-founded a film company Sheen Films with his two filmmaker friends to make high quality feature films and short films using the cost-effective HD DSLR cameras.
