The Savoy Hotel is located in the North Shore area of Blackpool sea front in Blackpool, England. The hotel has 145 bedrooms and six conference suites. History The Savoy Hotel is one of the oldest Hotels in Blackpool. It was opened on 11 March 1915 and took thirteen months to complete. The entrepreneurs behind the Savoy were a Mr and Mrs Westlake. The hotel originally had 300 bedrooms, a large Dining Room, a Lounge bar, a large Ballroom as well as the Savoy Garage In the early 1970s the hotel was asquired by Leslie Firth. He gave the hotel a £500000 facelift that included an enlarged ballroom and making all the rooms en suite. In 1983 the Savoy French Restaurant was opened. Again in 1988 and 1998 the hotel changed hands and was once more fully refurbished. In May 2006 Britannia Hotels purchased the hotel becoming the third hotel that the Britannia Group owned in the Blackpool area.
