Save Our Souls

Save Our Souls, formerly Chiba-Ken, is a 2003 formed Post-grunge-band which use emo influences.
History
2003-2008: The Beginning - Chiba-Ken
The band was founded by singer George William, drummer Jason D'Amelio and guitarist Elias Tannous. Eddie Delgado and Joshua Brain Jaffe was invited to play in the band. The band was named after Chiba-ken a suburb near Tokyo, Japan.
In August 2005, the band released Faces of the Moment, a 7-track-EP recorded at their own label called Chiba-Ken. In August, the EP was released as a download and one month later on Compact Disc. For the cover, the band invited Tenille De Freitas and Danielle Elyse Romano as cover models. The cover shows a bloody hand.
In the beginning of 2006, the band released the demo Winter Sessions. Because of that production the band got a contract to Santa Monica-based indie label Gotham Records. Their album debut, Are We Innocent?, was released on October 3, 2006.
In summer 2009, the band went to Los Angeles where they released their second full-length album Hard to Be Human after splitting with Gotham Records.
Since 2009: Save Our Souls
Singer George William, drummer Jason D'Amelio and guitarist Elias Tannous played together in the NYC hard rock band Chiba-Ken for five years before moving to Los Angeles in the summer of 2009 and forming Save Our Souls with guitarist Julian Ken and Bassist Graham Goetz.
Ken, who was born in Kazakhstan, was living in Israel and decided to relocate to America. After auditioning in front of a board of US officials, he was granted an Artists' Visa. Ken auditioned and was accepted into the band and his first show was opening for Iron Maiden at the Blossom Music Center in Cleveland, Ohio in June 2008. It was a dream come true for the band and for Julian especially.
After recording the album, "Hard to Be Human", with producer Mike Watts (As Tall As Lions), the band relocated to Los Angeles and quickly gained notoriety as one of the Sunset Strip's best new rock bands. They were named band of the month by the Whisky A Go-Go, featured in the LA Weekly, performed at the Playboy Mansion for their Super Bowl party, recorded a new track with platinum recording artist Yung Berg, and are set to open for Slash this summer at the Sunset Strip Music Festival.
Save Our Souls recently teamed up with Restless Management (After Midnight Project, Conditions) who are currently shopping the band. Save Our Souls is writing new material for an album slated for the fall of 2010, and also preparing for a summer tour, and have a residency playing once a month at the world famous Whisky A Go-Go.
Music style
The band uses Hard rock-, Post-grunge- and Emo-influences. The vocals are most times clean but sometimes the singer uses Screaming-vocals too. There is a deep-seeded anger that comes through in much of George William's lyrics as he deals with social and personal injustices in a dark satirical manner, and other songs deal with the sadder side of love. They fit in the same realm as Faith No More, Deftones, and Tool.
Success
The bands success grows in the whole US because of playing with international successful bands like Kittie, Iron Maiden, Ill Niño, From Autumn to Ashes, God Forbid, 40 Below Summer, Powerman 5000, Glassjaw, Cartel and Black Market Hero.
Since 2003, the band played over hundred of concerts including a 24-night national tour around the US.
The band is supported by Jägermeister, Sam Ash Music, Vic Firth, Rock Star Industry Clothing und Little Paw Skateboards.
