Sarath Lakshman

Sarath Lakshman (born 19 September 1989 in Mahé) is an Indian programmer and Linux activist. He works for Couchbase India Pvt Ltd as a Senior Software Engineer.
Born and raised in India, he was a student of Jawaharlal Nehru Government Higher Secondary School in mahe and continued his studies at Model Engineering College, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).
He is the founder of the Linux distribution, Slynux GNU/Linux, started in 2004, and author of the Linux Shell Scripting Cookbook. He has also written articles in the Linux For You monthly magazine.
Sarath has contributed notably to projects like Pardus Linux, Pitivi, Ubuntu and Google Summer of Code.
