Professor Santokh Ram (born 30 August 1944 in vijaypur a village on jammu ptk highway.., in a poor family of blacksmith sh.kaka ram & smt. tulsi devi), just brothers are remaining now.a sister who is dead now. is a person who knows what is gurbat,poverty . he got his first v when he was admitted in puc at m.a.m college, jammu &1-1\2 months post his admission in p.u.c his dad expired death...............rest story is very full of thorns & ashQs.. He was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations(BOPEE), Jammu and Kashmir State in June, 2005.Denure his tenure, the poor oppressed sc\st got the benefits of reservations in jk-cet.In his tenure a poor boy kupwaara got in to m.b.b.s & a daughter of a poor Brahmin girl too got m.b.b.s His tenure ended in February 2009. He is the former Dean of Academic Affairs and ex-Director of Continuing Education at the University of Jammu and has served several positions at Jammu University.
He is/was a convener of the committee constituted by the Minister for Higher Education for framing the academic calendar for the Govt. degree, Engineering and B.Ed colleges of the state. He is/was also a member of the University Council at University of Jammu, a member of the Supervisory and Monitoring Constitutional Statutory Committee, and a Convener of the Advisory Committee and the Curriculum Committees of BOPEE.Currently he is member,backward commission, jammu kashmir state.
