Santanu Mishra is an Indian Social Entrepreneur and an Independent Management Consultant. He is the Co-Founder and Executive Trustee of Smile Foundation - a national-level development organisation that works for the welfare of children, their families and the community through interventions in the realms of Education, Livelihood, Healthcare and Women Empowerment. Early Life and Education Santanu Mishra was born in Sambalpur, Odisha. He completed his Bachelors in Commerce (honours) from Sambalpur University, Odisha, securing the seventh position in the university. He then pursued Law from the same University. As a logical extension to a degree in law, he pursued company secretaryship (CS) from Institute of Company secretaries of India, New Delhi (An Institute established under an Act of Parliament) and became an Associate Member (ACS) of the Institute. Later on, he also completed his Management Education Programme from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and is an alumnus of the same Institute. Smile Foundation In 2002, Santanu Mishra, along with a group of corporate professionals founded the Smile Foundation. In 2005, he left his full-time corporate job and worked full-time for the charity. According to the organization, "it reaches out to more than 300,000 underprivileged children and youth across 25 states of India."
