Sanjay Rawal

Sanjay Rawal is a philanthropy junkie who has led dozens of projects around the world and helped launch a number of large humanitarian projects. .
He is considered a leader in celebrity philanthropy, having helped Wyclef Jean start his Yele Haiti Foundation in 2004 and continued on to help Angelique Kidjo start Batonga and worked with the team that launched Donna Karan-led Urban Zen. He has worked on smaller projects with dozens of celebs including Drew Barrymore, Meryl Streep, Ricky Martin, Susan Sarandon, and Sting as well as behind the scenes on a number of efforts to rebrand celebrities with publicly ailing images.
Sanjay also produced a song, "Any Other Day" with Wyclef Jean and Norah Jones, for Hurricane Katrina relief which raised money for the Red Cross and AmeriCares. The song was later performed extensively by Wyclef and Norah including on the CNN Heroes Awards broadcast in 2007.
He has been a member of many commissions and advisory groups including the inaugural V-Day Mens Committee and serves on the board of a number of foundations.
He studied under noted spiritual teacher Sri Chinmoy and helped the late teacher in his outreach to a number of world figures including Ravi Shankar .
In 2008, he served as an adviser to the Tribeca-film festival award-winning documentary Pray the Devil Back to Hell.
He currently runs the Illumine Group
