Samuel Isaias Lora (born May 28, 1986 in Venezuela) is a poet and short story writer. He is a modern confessional poet. Biography Early Life Lora was born on May 28, 1986 in Acarigua,Venezuela. He grew up in an Italian-Venezuelan household. He was raised in Acarigua, Venezuela and Woodbridge, VA. An avid writer from an early age, Lora uses writing as self-theraphy and focuses on free style poetry. Lora's father, Sebastiano Lora, passed away in November 20, 2007 from lung cancer. This event gave rise to "Cancer in January-Capricorn in September" which Lora dedicated to his father and is compiled of poems of how Lora dealt with the loss of his father. Themes of Works Lora has many themes throughout his works. He deals with love, death & loss, loneliness, anger, sexuality, and much more. An overall theme in Cancer in January-Capricorn in September" is that things are more than what the eye can see.
