Sam Hurrell (born July 13 1988) is an English footballer who plays for St Albans City. He grew up in Ickenham and attended Vyners School. He played for North Greenford United from 2003 - 2005. Hurrell was the Series 1 winner of the Football Icon competition on Sky One in 2005, , which earned him a professional contract with Chelsea. He played for Chelsea's youth team, and he made a couple of appearances for the reserves. He also played in the 2006 Milk Cup. He was released at the end of the 2007 season and had a trial with Leyton Orient and has also had a trial with Bradford City, but was unsuccessful in being offered a contract. In February 2008, Sam took up a coaching role at Chelsea FC. In the summer of 2008, Sam coached children aged 18 months to 5 years old for Little Kickers, Running Courses in South Oxhey and Watford. On 17 September 2008 Sam signed a contract with St Albans City after a successful trial. Sam scored in his debut for St Albans City. Sam is currently contracted to Welling United FC, of the Blue Square South League, and scored in their 6-1 Kent Cup final win on 16th April 2009.
