Legal Challenges
As the publisher of The Informant247, he faced legal challenges after his organization published investigative reports exposing corruption at Kwara State Polytechnic. While the editor and managing director were arrested, Taofeek was declared at large.
Several international and local organizations, including the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), International Press Institute (IPI), Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Coalition for Whistleblowers Protection and Press Freedom (CWPPF), and Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), called for the release of the arrested journalists.
The prosecution failed to present evidence to support the defamation case in court, leading to the dismissal of the charges. Meanwhile, several officials at the polytechnic were either demoted or dismissed following the investigative findings.

In 2024, Taofeek joined the France-based Forbidden Stories SafeBox Network, a platform dedicated to protecting sensitive information of journalists facing threats worldwide. He is a member of the Board of Director of a U.S.-based organization ASAKE INC (Media and Public Relations)
