Mosley v United Kingdom

Mosley v United Kingdom is an upcoming legal action being brought by Max Mosley to the European Court of Human Rights.. In March 2010 a brief was filed to the European Court of Human Rights concerning the case which has been fast-tracked through the system.
Mosley is challenging the state of English privacy law and arguing for a doctrine of prior disclosure which would require journalists to give at least two days notice of intention to print stories about the misbehavior of a public figure. Mosley will argue that the damages awarded to him in Mosley v News Group Newspapers Limited were an insufficient remedy. Opponents argue that a doctrine of prior disclosure would stifle investigative journalism and damage press freedom.
