Salam for Democracy and Human Rights (Salam DHR) is a human rights organization that promotes and supports human rights and democracy in the MENA region in general and Bahrain in particular. Salam DHR headquarters are based in London, United Kingdom. It was created by former Bahrain member of Parliament, Jawad Fairooz, who is currently the Executive Director of Salam DHR. Activities Salam DHR works to influence governmental representatives, to increase awareness of human rights and democracy issues in the Middle East, and works with human rights defenders such as Ebtisam al Saegh. Salam DHR conducts monitoring and analysis, produces reports, develops recommendations on policy and legislation, organises advocacy campaigns, conducts trainings, and builds coalitions. SALAM DHR's work includes the production of alternative reports on key human rights topics, coordinating coalitions, lobbying for reform and articulating NGO positions at the UN Human Rights Council, the European Parliament, and various domestic bodies.
