Salahidin Abdulahat is an Uyghur refugee, imprisoned for seven years in the United States Guantanamo Bay detention camps, in Cuba. His Guantanamo Internment Serial Number was 295. Joint Task Force Guantanamo counter-terrorism analysts reports that he was born on June 1, 1977, in Konashahar, China. Salahidin Abdulahat is one of the 22 Uighurs held in Guantanamo. It was later learned that he was innocent of the charges against him. After filing a writ of habeas corpus in 2008, Judge Ricardo Urbina declared his detention as unlawful and ordered him to be freed in the United States. He was sent to Bermuda in June 2009, and according to The Royal Gazette, a newspaper published in Bermuda, he was one of four Uyghurs hired as groundskeepers at the Port Royal Golf Course. The April 26, 2010, report asserted their jobs paid $51,000 a year.
