Saleh el-Moncef (full name Salah El Khalifa bin Moncef) is a Kuwaiti writer, born in 1962. He received his PhD from Indiana University Bloomington in 1995. Since then he has worked at the University of Nantes, in France, and is employed there as an Associate Professor of English and Creative Writing in the Department of English. He is also an Executive Editor at ANGELAKI (Oxford) which is a Journal of Theoretical Humanities. He has self-published poems, short stories and essays on Islam, and is known for his work on postmodern narratives. His book titled "Atopian Limits: Questions of Self, Complexity, and Contingency in Postmodern American Narrative" was published in 2002 by Peter Lang International Academic Publishers.
